This control system was developed for Stone machinery suppliers Accurite Industries Ltd and contains many special features necessary for the safe operation of such a large machine. The 2.5m diameter diamond-tipped blade is driven by a 55kW soft-started motor protected by a complex load monitoring system designed to protect the blade. The 3 axes are inverter driven allowing positional resolution better than 0.5mm. Various other control elements are incorporated to prevent machine failure such as lateral movement protection whilst the blade is in material, coolant plant monitoring to prevent blade overheating and cabinet humidity control. Several of these panels are currently in operation around the UK.
